To maintain the safety of library staff and customers during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County will reopen with curbside service, effective June 1. Jennifer Cesta, public relations coordinator shown outside the main library in Steubenville, demonstrates how that will be done. The library will provide curbside service by appointment to customers, who will be able to call the library to schedule an appointment to pick up books, DVDs, magazines and other materials, according to Cesta. These library items will be bagged with the customer’s name on it and placed in a storage bin outside the library. Customers also may return items to the library in the storage bin. In addition to picking up books, library customers also can make an appointment for curbside assistance for printing, notary service and tax forms. Operating hours and contact information for curbside service for the public starting June 1 are: Main Library, (740) 282-9782, Monday-Thursday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Adena Branch, (740) 546-3782, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Brilliant Branch, (740) 598-4028, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Dillonvale-Mount Pleasant Branch, (740) 769-2090, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Schiappa Branch, (740) 264-6166, Monday-Thursday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Tiltonsville Branch, (740) 859-5163, Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Toronto Branch, (740) 537-1262, Monday-Thursday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Bookmobile, (740) 282-9782. Homebound deliveries will begin on June 1. A date when library customers will be able to go inside the library for services has yet to be determined. Operating hours and contact information will be made available on the library’s website, www.steubenvillelibrary.org, social media and signage on the front door of each library branch.
