Bishop Jeffrey M. Monforton of the Diocese of Steubenville, center, recently installed the Rev. Michael Gossett, right, as pastor of Blessed Sacrament and Our Lady of Lourdes Parishes, Wintersville. Gossett, son of Dave and Loretta Gossett of Steubenville, is a 2001 graduate of Catholic Central High School who attended Mount Union College and studied journalism, graduating in 2005. After college, he was accepted as a seminarian for the Diocese of Steubenville and went to St. Vincent Seminary in Latrobe, Pa. He was ordained a priest in 2011 and was assigned at St. Mary’s parish in St. Clairsville and St. John Central High School for four years before being assigned to Blessed Sacrament and Our Lady of Lourdes Parishes in Wintersville along with serving as chaplain of Catholic Central High School since 2015. Gossett also has served as director of vocations for the Diocese of Steubenville since 2015.
