Cadiz Women’s Golf League
The Cadiz Women’s Golf League’s play of the day for Aug. 26 was “Three-Man Best Ball.”
The winning team consisted of Nep Rowland, Bonnie Beetham and Sandi Polen. The putt winners were Kathy Newburn with 29 putts and Paula Hope with 30 putts. Kathy Newburn and Lori DeFallo had chip-in birdies. Lori DeFallo also had two birdies, and Karen Sims had a chip-in.
Next week’s hostesses will be Donna Griffin and Denise Augustine, and the play of the day will be “Shamble.” Following the round of golf will be the league’s last monthly meeting.
Red Oaks Ladies League
The women of the Red Oaks Ladies League played the front nine at Red Oaks Golf Course on Aug. 24. The game was “Find the Fairway.”
The three winners were: Ruth Lamantia, first place; Brenda McCloskey, second; and Kathy Moore, third. For skill prizes, Yuko Atwell won the longest drive on hole No. 7, and Carmella Wallace won the closest to the pin on hole No. 4 and also birdied the hole. Other birdies were had by Ruth Lamantia, hole No. 3; Kathy Moore, hole No. 5; and Lori DeFallo birdied hole Nos. 5 and 9. DeFallo also had the lowest putts.
On Monday, the women will play at Highland Springs in Wellsburg. Tee-off time is 5 p.m., and those interested in playing should call the club house to sign up for the game before 3:30 p.m.
Spring Hills Ladies Golf League
Spring Hills Ladies Golf League played low net on Thursday. Winners were: A flight, Yuko Atwell; B flight, Neysa McCart and Erin Mader; and C flight, Tammy Cox
Other winners were: Long drive, A flight, Ruth Lamantia and B flight, Brenda McCloskey.
Closest to the pin: A flight, Yuko Atwell; B flight, Brenda McCloskey; and C flight, Tammy Cox.
Low putts: Tammy Koutsky and Neysa MCart.
No chip-ins were recorded.
Yuko Atwell won the 50-50 drawing.
