Car cruise donation helps coalition

O’Reilly’s Auto Parts in Wintersville sponsored the Ohio Valley Mopar’s Car Cruise for Breast Cancer Classic Car show on Aug. 30. “This is the second year that O’Reilly’s manager Brian Meadows has graciously worked with the organization to highlight breast cancer and the Women In Action Against Cancer Coalition,” noted Janet Sharpe, coalition co-chair. Kris Plotts from O’Reilly’s assisted in the fundraiser, selling refreshments with proceeds also going to the coalition. The Ohio Valley Mopar Club has been holding car shows for more than five years to help provide funding to the coalition with this year’s event generating a donation of $659. Celebrating the donation are, from left, Anthony “Butch” Rotellinem Mopar member; Sharpe; Kurt Yani, Mopar member; Plotts; Jim Holden, Mopar member; Janet Pillar, coalition corresponding secretary; and Linda Bain, coalition recording secretary. The Ohio Valley Mopar Club, formed in June of 2009, is an organization of car enthusiasts who preserve and showcase classic cars. The Women In Action Against Cancer, formed in 1994, is a grassroots organization that provides education and financial assistance for breast, cervical and prostate cancer for the under-served and uninsured of Jefferson County.
