Helping Weirton Christian Center
The Order of A.H.E.P.A. — Hancock Chapter No. 103 recently made a $2,000 donation to the Weirton Christian Center. The donation is to cover school supplies and COVID-19 supplies for the year which began Sept. 8. The Order of A.H.E.P.A. also has made donations in the past to help cover the cost of feeding the preschool children. The center has been in business of changing lives in Weirton since and survives on the generosity of others, a chapter spokesman explained. “With the COVID-19 pandemic changes in the operation of the county educational system, it has caused a significant increase in the operational cost for staffing and the transportation for the Weirton Christian Center,” the spokesman noted. Anyone who would like to support the WCC can send a donation to P.O. Box 2045, 117 Ivy St., Weirton, WV 26062. Participating in the check presentation were, seated, from left, Gary Mastromichalis, George Antoniou, Nick Proakis and George Payne; and standing, Shannon Schuetzner, WCC Executive Director Kim Weaver, A.H.E.P.A. President James Banketas and John Porco.
