Wintersville Woman’s Club conducting drive-through, seeks help from community

WINTERSVILLE — The Wintersville Woman’s Club will be holding a drive-through Thursday in the parking lot of the St. Florian Event Center that’s open not only to its membership, but to the general public as well.

Club President Pat Ketzell announced the drive-through will be held from noon to 2 p.m. and will involve four collections. They are:

– Blankets for local dialysis patients, which Ketzell explained were supposed to have been collected at the club’s November meeting, but it was canceled.

– New and gently used men, women’s ad children’s shoes for Soles4Souls, a Nashville-based charity, that collects new and used shoes and redistributes them through direct donations to people in need and through micro-enterprise partners, according to its website.

– Nonperishable items such as canned or boxed goods — cake mixes and pudding, for example — for donation to local food pantries.

– A Christmas gift for a girl or girl from birth to age 18. The gifts should not be wrapped.

For information, contact Ketzell at (740) 635-0126 or Marjean Sizemore, a member of the local club and president of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs/Ohio Federation of Women’s Clubs for the 2020-22 term, at (740) 264-3474.
