Humane foundation fundraiser starts Tuesday

The Hancock County Humane Foundation representatives note that they feel “the love and support of the community for our kitties all year, and this Christmas season we would like to make your gift-giving easier.” Starting Tuesday, the humane foundation will be hosting an online “12 Days of Christmas” drawing “that is sure to have something to help with your gift list,” according to Cari McIntyre, foundation president, left, shown with drawing co-coordinator Julie McAllister. “Our volunteers have rounded up the best prizes, and we hope to help you with your Santa list while also continuing to help the kitties in our care and the surrounding community,” McIntyre explained. Items include airline travel, sporting event tickets, getaways, home electronics, crafts and supplies. “This year alone, the Hancock County Humane Foundation has helped to provide low-cost spay and neuter surgeries to more than 200 animals, provided a pet food pantry for those in need and helped with medical assistance to many who may have gone without. And our public has played a huge part. Without your support, we couldn’t do what we do,” McIntyre noted. “This year has been stressful for everyone and has greatly affected our fundraising efforts, so watch our Facebook page for updates and plan on joining us to take some of the stress off while also helping our kitty community and local outreach efforts.” The foundation also has sales under way for T-shirts and hoodies along with sales of a locally made body/skin care line called Fruit N Holler with a portion of its profits donated to help foundation efforts.
