Christmas party held

-- Contributed

Capital Health Care Network and Capital Health Home Care joined together to sponsor an all-school Christmas party for East Garfield Elementary in Steubenville. “This is our second year to help out East Garfield. We love being able to give back to the community, especially for this event,” commented Nancy Felton, community director of marketing. Each child received a stocking filled with an apple, orange, stuffed reindeer, craft, coloring book and crayons and a Hershey kiss-filled candy cane. More than 24 dozen sugar cookies were baked to be decorated by the children. Organizers expressed appreciation to school Principal Tricia Saccoccia; Brandi Herceg, music and art teacher who was a “delightful” Grinch; Chris Orris of Valley Hospice, who stepped in to play Santa late in the game; and the Steubenville City Fire Department Engine No. 6711 that “literally came through in a big way after a cancellation due to the snowstorm.” Some of the pupils who enjoyed the event included Wilashia Stackhouse, Rose Clements, Kyliyah Hill and Soule Felton.
