Kiwanis making a meeting comeback

-- Contributed

After a lengthy hiatus because of coronavirus pandemic precautions and restrictions in place, the Kiwanis Club of Steubenville plans to resume in-person luncheon meetings with the first gathering set for March 9. It will be held at noon in a new location — the Sycamore Youth Center at 301 N. Fourth St., Steubenville. The meeting announcement by club President Ted Gorman came in an e-mail news message to members. The weekly Tuesday noon luncheon meetings will be held in the basement of the center. The guest speaker will be state Rep. Ron Ferguson, R-Wintersville. There also will be a brief business meeting. Social distancing will be observed and masks worn. Those planning to attend should RSVP by March 5 to phyllisr66@aol.com. In early January, Bobbyjon Bauman, right, Sycamore Youth Center director, and chef Lisa Williams, center, met with Phyllis Riccadonna, left, Kiwanis newsletter chair, about the Sycamore Youth Center hosting the service organization’s weekly get-togethers.
