Brooke County Library Book Club scheduled to meet Thursday

WELLSBURG — The Brooke County Public Library Book Club will meet at 5 p.m. Thursday at 5 p.m. in person and virtually to discuss Katherine P. Manley’s “Don’t Tell’em You’re Cold: A Memoir of Poverty and Resilience.”

Participants will receive the April book. The club is free and open to the public.

At this time only nine people may attend in person to maintain social distancing, but others may arrange to participate virtually by calling (304) 737-1551. The book can be requested and placed on hold at no cost by calling the above number or visiting https://wvreads.overdrive.com.

Antique Power Show happening in May at Harrison Historical Park

NEW ATHENS — The Harrison Coal and Reclamation Historical Park grounds 43672 Stumptown Road, New Athens, (state Route 519 between U.S. Route 22 and New Athens) will host the first Appalachian Ohio Antique Power Show.

It will be held May 29 and 30 and feature antique tractors, hit and miss engines, oilfield engines, garden tractors and more.

All agriculture, industrial, military, logging, oil and gas, steam and transportation machinery and history are welcome.

Antique tractors, hit and miss engines, oilfield engines, cars, trucks (semi and pickup) and garden tractors are all welcome.

The show runs from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on May 29 and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 30.
