First Friday dances at Weirton Senior Center prove popular

WEIRTON — The Greater Weirton Senior Center, located at 3425 Main St., Weirton, is opening its membership to younger people.

Those 50 and older are now eligible to become a part of the center and its many activities, according to Tammy Margetic, center director. Annual dues are $25 per person or $40 for a couple.

The center is continuing its dances on the first Friday of the month, with the next one scheduled for Friday. The dances are held from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The cost of $5 includes food and punch and live music. Attendees are asked to bring a covered dish to share.

On Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., the center will hold its monthly bake sale, rummage sale and book sale that is open to the public.
