Church to hold Evening of Music

STEUBENVILLE — Finley Church, located at 958 Lincoln Ave., will hold its annual Evening of Music at 6 p.m. Sunday. For your worship experience, there will be several Christmas musical selections performed, including, piano and vocal solos, piano duets, organ and piano duets, a men’s quartet, a vocal ensemble and handbells. Officials stated this will be a “great evening of praise to our Lord,” adding the public is invited to attend the event.

Church to hold Sunday event

WINTERSVILLE — The Wintersville Methodist Church will hold a special evening with world-renowned ventriloquist Ken Groves and gospel group Renewal. The event will take place at 6 p.m. Sunday in the church’s Center For Hope. Tickets will be $10.

Dine and donate event set

WEIRTON — Harmony Health Foundation, a national nonprofit headquartered in Weirton, will be partnering with Primanti Brothers at 7 p.m. Dec. 12 for a dine-and-donate night. The event will support the foundation’s mission of improving health care access for underserved populations, particularly individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

In addition, the Maverick Smith band, whom iHeartRadio’s WKIM-FM Los Angeles called “legendary and genius,” will perform live at Primanti Brothers, bringing their chart-topping hits and festive songs from their new Christmas album.

“It’s not every day you see local rock personalities lending their voices — quite literally — to a cause so close to home,” organizers stated. “This event is more than a headline. It’s a chance to spotlight the incredible work happening in Weirton that’s having an impact nationwide.”

The Harmony Health Foundation is tackling health care gaps for vulnerable populations, showing big change can come from small towns. Primanti Brothers is proving how businesses can drive community impact by giving 20 percent of the proceeds from food and non-alcoholic beverages, to the foundation. Smith is using their rising fame to advocate for healthcare equity, turning their platform into a voice for those in need.

“Weirton’s heart beats in the work of its people, and this event is proof of what happens when a town comes together,” organizers said.

Church to hold tree light concert

WINTERSVILLE — Two Ridges Presbyterian Church will hold its annual tree-lighting event at 6:45 p.m. Dec. 8. Following the lighting, the Ron Retzer Trio will perform a concert at 7 p.m. The public is invited to attend the event. The church is located at 1085 Canton Road in Wintersville. SHS alumni association to meet

STEUBENVILLE — The Steubenville High School Alumni Association will hold its next meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Scaffidi’s Restaurant and Tavern.

Fiscal year information available

STEUBENVILLE — Draft financial statements and required supplementary information of the Brooke-Hancock-Jefferson Metropolitan Planning Commission have been completed for the fiscal year having ended June 30.

The information is available for public inspection between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. weekdays at the Brooke-Hancock-Jefferson Metropolitan Planning Commission, located on the second floor of 124 N. Fourth St. There is no charge to view public records. A copy of the report will be provided for a nominal fee upon written request to the finance manager, Rhonda Howell. Submissions can be mailed to the same address. Questions regarding the report should be directed to Howell by calling (740) 282-3685.

Church to hold Parents Night Out

WEIRTON — Weirton Heights Memorial Baptist Church, located at 121 Ivy St., will be holding a Parents Night Out event from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Dec. 8.

Those taking part can come at any point throughout the four hours offered and drop their child off, officials commented. Children must be potty trained and between the ages of 3 and 13. Four Seasons Senior Club meets

WEIRTON — The Four Seasons Senior Club held its monthly meeting Nov. 20 at Giovanni’s restaurant in Weirton. President Gene Viola called the meeting to order and Tony LaRosa gave the opening prayer and led in reciting the pledge and singing “God Bless America.”

Viola introduced Kathy Frey and Joanne Llewellyn, guests of Michael and Valerie Rowland. Llewellyn joined the club. Members were entertained by the Ron Retzer Trio. Mike Rowland was the winner of the 50/50 drawing. Hellen Bayne, Nancy Ramsey and Laura Mamula won free dinners. Door prize winners were Cecilia Findley, Marlene Dunn, Ron Fallert, Nancy Smurda and Rita Orler. Martha Varitek and Ramsey were recognized for having a November birthday.

Valerie Rowland gave the secretary’s report. Josie Cekinovich provided the treasurer’s report. Terry Ramsey made a motion to hold meetings at Giovanni’s six times a year and attend the Breakfast Club for meetings the other six weeks. Members agreed, with the schedule set to begin at the start of the year. The Dec. 18 meeting will take place at Undo’s in Weirton. The menu will consist of salad, chicken breast, baked potato, corn and apple pie.
