International Senior Club announces bus tours
WEIRTON — The International Senior Club met Nov. 12 at Undo’s, with Bob DiFonzo leading the prayer, blessing and a moment of silence for Dan Ciotti who died. Larry Purks led the pledge and members joined in singing “God Bless America.” A Thanksgiving buffet was enjoyed by those in attendance.
President Regina Truax introduced guests Mary Alice Meyers and Dorothy Byers. Secretary Rita Orler read the minutes and Norma Henson read the treasurer’s report.
Truax reminded members dues for 2025 are due. She noted Toys for Tots will be collected in December when the club holds its annual Christmas party. Happy birthday was sung to those celebrating a November birthday, including, Bobby Arlia, Stef Iannetti, Nancy Ramsey and Flo Virtue.
Barbara Purks sent get-well cards to members. Liz Beecroft read the joke of the day.
Veterans were honored with a magnetic flag in recognition of Veterans Day.
Those honored included, Mike Runkle, Terry Ramsey and Dino Rossi.
Members played Gift 1, 2, 3 and 4, where names were drawn until four remained. Members then took a gift from remaining members. The winners were JoAnnn Magnone, Joyce Dobbs, Nancy Lellie and Carol Wisneski.
Bus tours were announced: Motown Christmas, Capitol Theater, Wheeling, Dec. 14; “Dirty Dancing,” Capitol Theater, Feb. 13; Vicki Lawrence and Mama, a two-woman show, Capitol Theater, March 9; Rock and Roll Doo Wop 26, Capitol Theater, April 5; Meadows Casino, Washington, Pa., April 9; Bally’s Casino, Atlantic City, May 20-23; Sugar Creek, June 27; “Sister Act,” Lincoln Park, dinner at Connie’s Corner, June 29; Hartville, Ohio, July 18; Everett Railroad and Western Maryland Scenic Railroad, July 23-25; Seneca Resorts and Casino, Sept. 24-26; and Oglebay Festival of Lights, dinner at Wilson Lodge, Nov. 21.
