The congregation of New Life Church, along with local firefighters, took part in a flag-raising ceremony in honor of Veterans Day Nov. 10. The event took place at the church, located at 1492 Knights Road in Weirton, where the honor guard gave a reading and explained the meaning behind the folding of the American flag. Chappy Chapman was in charge of hoisting the flag, while American Legion Post 10 of Weirton performed a rifle salute and played taps.
