Led by Mercy to perform
WEIRTON — The Christian music band Led by Mercy will host a free concert at 6 p.m. Sunday at the Free Gift Baptist Church, located at 3425 Main St. in Weirton. The concert will feature contemporary Christian music and traditional hymns, officials stated. Refreshments will be served. The public is welcome to attend. Barnhouse piece to be unveiled
CADIZ — Members of the Harrison Coal and Reclamation Historical Park will unveil of an original Dave Barnhouse painting of the “Silver Spade” at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Puskarich Library in Cadiz.
Barnhouse is an Ohio painter whose classic Americana scenes depict “a beautiful glimpse of towns, tractors, barns, people and other subjects, officials noted. The art will be on permanent display at the Harrison County History Of Coal Museum, located in the lower level of the library.
The community is invited to take part in the event. Prints of the “Silver Spade” will be available for purchase at the nonprofit’s annual dinner auction, scheduled to be held May 10 in Hopedale.
The HCRHP is a local nonprofit group dedicated to the preservation and restoration of mining equipment and other memorabilia.
Fundraiser to help area resident
EAST SPRINGFIELD — A spaghetti dinner fundraiser has been planned to assist with medical expenses for East Springfield resident Stephanie Noonkester.
The event is scheduled to begin at noon on April 6 at the East Springfield Community Center, and continue until the food runs out, according to organizers.
Door prizes will be awarded and drawings will be held to win one of several baskets which have been donated by family and friends. Among the baskets will be a fishing basket and a kitchen appliances basket.
Brooke Democratic women to meet
WELLSBURG — The monthly meeting of the Brooke County Democratic Executive Committee and the Brooke County Democratic Women will be held at 5:30 p.m. April 10 at the Wellsburg Library.
All Democrats are welcome to attend.
