Original production set
WEIRTON — Morning Star Baptist Church, located at 3124 Weir Ave. in Weirton, will hold a special Good Friday service beginning at noon on Friday.
“He is Risen,” an original production of “The Resurrection Story in Narration and Song,” will be performed, according or organizers of the event.
The performance was written and will be directed by Linda Ross Brown. Guest artists will include Bill Holt, saxophonist, and Kriss Pino, tenor, who will be joined by the MSBC Ensemble.
The Rev. James E. Brown will officiate the service, officials noted. A freewill offering will be collected during the service.

The church is open from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and closed on Monday and Saturday.
Spring Gospel Meeting set
WEIRTON — Weirton Heights Church of Christ will hold its Spring Gospel Meeting from May 4-8 at the church, located at 3169 Pennsylvania Ave.
On May 4, the Bible class “Unless the Lord Builds the House,” will be held at 9:30 a.m., the morning worship service “What Hinders You?” will be at 10:30 a.m. and the evening worship “Faith,” will be at 6:30 p.m.
Mechanical instrumental music will take place on May 5; “John’s Purpose” will be discussed May 6; “The Lord is with You,” is scheduled for May 7 and “Near to Thee,” will be the discussion on May 8.
The speaker will be John Board.
