Dean Martin Hometown Festival set

STEUBENVILLE — The Dean Martin Association, City of Steubenville and the Harmonium Project, have announced the return of the Dean Martin Hometown Festival, scheduled to take place from June 12-14.

The annual event pays tribute to the singer, actor and entertainer, Dean Martin — one of Steubenville’s “most-cherished native sons.” Fans from across the United States, as well as from other countries, will gather to honor Martin’s legacy through a weekend filled with music, entertainment, food, a car cruise-in and nostalgia in the heart of downtown Steubenville.

The Dean Martin Hometown Festival will include three days of music, laughter and tributes to the entertainer, officials stated.

“Whether you’re a longtime admirer or a newcomer to his timeless charm, this festival is an opportunity to celebrate the life and legacy of Dean Martin in the city where it all began,” officials commented. The kick-off will begin at 7 p.m. June 12 at the Berkman Amphitheater, located at Historic Fort Steuben. Entertainers will include George Snyder and Lee Dean, Frankie Seta and the Vince Villanova Big Band. A karaoke contest will be held at 8 p.m. at the Spot Bar, featuring contestants competing for the title of best performance. The winner will receive $100 and an opportunity to perform on the main stage of the Spot Bar June 14 during the closing event.

The first Dean Martin Association Charity Golf Scramble will be held at the Steubenville Country Club June 13. A shotgun start will begin at 8:30 a.m. Sponsorship and registration information can be found online at deanmartinassociation.com/festival-2025. Proceeds from the scramble will benefit the Ohio Valley Health Center. Those wanting to observe the scramble will be charged a fee of $25.

The Dino Dash 5K run/walk will take place June 14 at Historic Beaty Park. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. The Celebrating Dean Martin Parade will follow the run at noon, organizers noted. Local businesses, community organizations, hometown celebrities and dignitaries are invited to the procession through the streets of downtown Steubenville. This year’s theme will be “Celebrate Dean Martin.”

At 2 p.m., Franciscan Square will host an afternoon of MDA and “Martin and Lewis: A Telethon-Style Reunion.” Entertainment will be provided by various tribute artists and hosted by Joe Scalissi and Matt Macis. The event highlights the history and honors the legacy with telethon-type segments of the Muscular Dystrophy Association and the partnership they had with Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis beginning in 1950.

“Come and experience the magic of Dean Martin’s world,” officials concluded. “Because as he always said, ‘You’re nobody till somebody loves you.'”
