Kiwanis helping new parents

The Weirton Kiwanis Club used time during its regular meeting to work on assembling 300 piggybanks for the new mothers at the WVU Weirton Medical Center. Each bank has a new penny inside to encourage the mothers to begin saving for their baby’s education, as well as to congratulate parents, according to Kiwanians. The club has been taking part in the project for the past eight years, officials noted. Helping to assemble the banks were, from left, Major Eric Roberts, Brandy Wenner and John Hudson.
