The Brooke County Board of Education recognized members of the Brooke High School Band and the Brooke High School Jazz Band during their March 24 meeting. The jazz band earned Superior ratings at this year’s West Virginia Northern Regional Jazz Festival, earning perfect scores from the competition’s panel of three judges. The high school band earned Superior ratings at this year’s West Virginia Solo and Ensemble Festival. Members of the jazz band, at left, include, from front, left, Kalleigh Rahr, Zoey Bond and Max Diaz; second row, Jackson Combs, Rosia Smith, Deedra Groves, Abby McGee and Abby Wohnhas; and back, band director Johnny Leonard, Emma Helsel, Luke Haught, Kasey Johnson, Olivia Keister, Alaina Nelson, Zachary Huggins Blount and Michael Bull.
