Works must have a professional presentation with no obvious damage. If a work sells during the show, the artist may be asked to bring a replacement-piece. Two professional photographers will screen works for presentation and subject matter requirements.
Works may be priced for sale or marked not for sale. No commission will be taken. Historic Fort Steuben will handle the sales. There will be a $5 entry fee per piece to cover exhibit expenses and Fort Steuben donation, with a 10-piece entry-limit. Only cash will be accepted and collected upon intake.
It is the intention of officials to hang the work of all participants; however, the committee has the right to refuse works due to space limitations or prospectus requirements. Should every entered piece not be hung, the $5 fee for that particular piece will be refunded.
All Edison class reunion set
RICHMOND — For the first time, an All-Edison Class Reunion will welcome graduates from any class who attended any of the district’s high schools. The event is scheduled between noon and 8 p.m. July 19 at Richmond Park, located at 210 S. Park St.
The reunion will take place during the Brew and Food Truck Festival, hosted by Festival in the Woods. The celebration includes food, drinks and entertainment for all ages, according to organizers.
Formed from the consolidation of Stanton, Springfield and Jefferson Union high schools, Edison represents generations of students. Class reunions have been held throughout the years, but this will be the first time an open invitation has been extended to all former students from any of the schools that make up Edison’s legacy.
Organizer Kim Richardson stated, “The class of 2003 approached me when they were having trouble with a location for their reunion. They couldn’t find a spot that fit everyone, was family-friendly and had food options for all. I suggested they join the Brew and Food Truck Festival and have a central meeting place. It turned out to be a huge success.”
With that model in mind, Richardson expanded the idea for this summer’s gathering. The festival will feature 10 food trucks, a large playground for children and a wide selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. The hours were made flexable to allow those wanting to attend to stop by at their convenience throughout the day.
In celebration of this occasion, commemorative T-shirts are available for purchase online. Richardson encourages attendees to wear the shirts to show their Edison pride.
