Library announces upcoming events, activities
STEUBENVILLE — The Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County has announced its upcoming activities for the week beginning Sunday and running through Nov. 22.

Adults: Listen to the soulful sounds of jazz as the Wheeling Symphony Orchestra brings a jazz trio to the library at 6 p.m. on Tuesday. Register to hear Jeff Mangone on bass, Curtis Johnson on alto saxophone and Rick Purcell on piano.
Book Club will meet at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 19 to review the book “Slow Dance,” by Rainbow Rowell.
Children: Pick up a grab-and-go craft on Nov. 20, while supplies last.
Teens: Create a tiny, magical scene featuring a fuzzy soot sprite from “Spirited Away” and “My Neighbor Totoro.” The project is for ages 12 to 18. Register to participate.

Adults: Book Club will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday to discuss “Flying Angels,” by Danielle Steel.
Make a fall wreath from paper at 5 p.m. Monday. Call to register.
Children: Bring your child, ages 2 through 6, for an hour of playing with toys that promote alphabet knowledge. Play and Learn the Alphabet will be held at 11:30 a.m. Nov. 20.
Create a football turkey at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 20. Register to attend.

All ages and abilities are invited to the library’s Open Art Night, set to take place from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Supplies will be provided. This program is sponsored in part by the Jefferson County Board of Developmental Disabilities.
Teens: Manga Club will meet from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 20. The club is for teens ages 11 to 17. Registration is required.

Adults: Paint and decorate a clear ornament for your Christmas tree at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. Call the library to register.
Children: To prepare for Toronto’s upcoming Light up Night, which will include Build-A-Bear activities, the library will offer a Build-A-Bear Tot Time at 4 p.m. Nov. 19. Then, at 1 p.m. on Nov. 22, a special movie will be shown at the library. Register for one or both events.
Parents can bring their children, ages birth to 2 years old, to the library to participate in Babygarten. This activity, which includes stories and songs, will take place beginning at 11 a.m. on Monday. Register in advance to attend.
Children can pick up a grab-and-go craft on Monday, while supplies last.
