Jefferson County sheriff

Tense: A Hancock County 911 dispatcher contacted the sheriff’s department after hearing a female scream “don’t .. .touch me” before hanging up, Tuesday. The caller ID traced back to an Island Creek township residence, deputies said, but upon arrival the homeowner refused to allow them to enter without a warrant, said he’d trained his dog to attack and warned officers if they tried to enter his home “someone is going to die.” Officers obtained the warrant and were allowed to search the residence, finding weapons but no victim though they did note the male “had fresh scratch marks on his back that were still bleeding and small areas that were swollen, indicating he had been involved in some sort of physical altercation.” They were eventually able to contact the original caller, who denied having been in an altercation.

Bad breakup: A man who was living in a Market Street, Toronto, apartment when he applied for an unemployment card told police it was delivered after he moved out and his ex-girlfriend activated it, Tuesday. The woman ran through more than $3,400 in one week, spending $1,200 on furniture from a Bridgeport store and the rest in transactions at convenience stores and ATMs. The victim, who is pressing charges, said he’d contacted officials repeatedly to find out why he hadn’t received his card.

Arrested: Ashley Kukich, 34, 28 Avenue E, Weirton, probation violation, Tuesday.

Mingo Junction police

Arrested: Michael Roleson, 26, 206 Kirkdoll Way, Mingo Junction, domestic violence, Tuesday.

Arrested: Caitlin D. Allen, 21, and Jacob T. Kelly, 23, both of 110 St. Sinclair, Mingo Junction, domestic violence, Tuesday.

Steubenville police

Cited: Daniel J. McShan, 22, 915 Sherman Ave., driving under suspension, hit-skip and failure to control, Tuesday. McShan was taken into custody after allegedly leaving the scene of a two-car accident at the intersection of Hill and Spring avenues, police said. The other driver said she recognized McShan as the driver of a car that rolled through a stop sign at the intersection, sideswiping her car and driving away. McShan’s vehicle had damage to the front-side bumper, quarter panel and headlight, police said.
