Steubenville police

Fraud: A Pennsylvania Avenue resident said someone purchased items on her debit card without her permission, Tuesday.

Too high: A notice of violation was sent to the owner of a property at 513 Lawson Ave., weeds.

Cited: Amy Jones, 34, 1588 State Route 43, Richmond, turning at an intersection; Amy Lamp, 53, 38 Cherry Drive, Wellsburg, assured clear distance; Matthew L. Withers, 32, 730 Kendall Ave., driving under suspension; Jack A. Graham, 54, 389 West St., Smithfield, driving under suspension and red light violation; Christian T. Frazier, 20, no fixed address, operating a motor vehicle on a temporary permit and operating an unlicensed motor vehicle on a public road. Police said Frazier had been warned at least three times about operating a small red trail bike on the streets.

Forgotten: Two cousins who’d been drinking all afternoon got into a fight, but when police arrived couldn’t remember what they were fighting about, Tuesday.

Robbed: A woman’s purse was stolen while she was visiting a friend in the 1400 block of Ridge Avenue, Tuesday. Police said the woman’s debit card was used before the could get to the bank and cancel it. Also missing were her credit cards, birth certificate, identification card and wallet.

Fired up: A witness reported two men were fighting in the 700 block of North Seventh when one of them pulled a gun and it discharged, Tuesday. The witness took cover when the gun appeared and didn’t see who shot it.

Cited: James W. Crane, 78, 83 Rex Ave., Wintersville, assured clear distance; Quayaira Johnson, 27, 636 Oakmont, driving under suspension.

Jefferson County sheriff

Shocked: A juvenile told his mother his father had tested a shock collar on him, Monday. The child told his mother the collar had been purchased for his father’s new dog, but didn’t seem to be working. The father tried it on himself, then when his girlfriend refused to let him use her to test it, he asked his son. When the child declined, he said his father grabbed him anyway and told his girlfriend to hit the “shock” button. The child told his mother it hurt.

Bullseye: A man cutting grass for Buckeye Local said an individual threatened to assault him,Monday. Deputies located the man, who said he thought the mower was deliberately blowing the grass on him and his dog.

Unresponsive: A Jefferson County man was reported unresponsive in his yard, Monday. First responders said the man had injured his foot and it was infected.

Arrested: Jamie Leeann Smearman, 32, 419 Darlington Road, Steubenville, operating a vehicle under the influence and falsification, Tuesday.

Arrested: Donald Shook, 35, 301 Carnegie Court, Toronto, domestic violence, Monday.

Ohio Highway Patrol

Arrested: Daniel Greco, 40, 881 Ross Road, New Cumberland, possession of drugs, operating a vehicle under the influence, falsification, reckless operation and fugitive arrest warrant out of Virginia.

Arrested: Kaysha Knox, 30, 475 National Road, Wheeling, failure to appear, Monday.

Harrison County sheriff

Arrested: Chad McKeever, 39, 138 West Main St., Hopedale, failure to pay child support,Monday.

Wintersville police

Arrested: Robert Ebert-Carthill, 30, 415 National Road, Wheeling, failure to appear, Monday.
