Steubenville police

Blocked: A woman in the 500 block of South LaBelle Court said a man parked his car in front of her garage and left it, Wednesday. She said the man got in someone else’s car and left early in the morning, minutes before a sheriff’s deputy came through the alley. A citation was issued for parking in a restricted area and the vehicle was impounded.

Noisy: Callers reported hearing loud noises coming from a building in the 600 block of Lawson Avenue being demolished, Wednesday. One resident reported seeing a man and woman on bikes at the property, and another took pictures of them and a vehicle they got into. Police traced the vehicle, and the woman who owned it said her daughter and her boyfriend had been dumpster diving.

Rocked: A woman in the 1300 block of Oregon told police her ex-boyfriend threw a rock through her front door, Wednesday.

Code issues: Notices of violation were sent to owners of properties at 1809 Williams Place, weeds; 1412 Orchard St., litter and high grass; 717 Rosswell, litter; 1213 Claire Ave., liter; and 709 Pine St., litter.

Cited: Charles Waters, 50, 122 Panther Hollow Road, Wellsburg, stop sign violation; Marcella L. Keefer, 18, 378 Westwood Dr., Steubenville, no operator’s license; Christopher L. Mottle, 35, 723 Market St. Apt F, Steubenville, no operators license and failure to display license plates; Malone N. Lynn, 30, 141 Paige Court D, Weirton, expired plates.

Jefferson County sheriff

Arrested: Tawnya Corona, 52, 792 township Road, Hammondsville, failure to appear, Friday.

Arrested: Jason Moats, 38, Steubenville, domestic violence, Friday.

Arrested: Ashton Bensie, 19, 401 Labelle St., Brilliant, burglary, Saturday.

Shots fired: Deputies responded to a report of shots being fired in a wooded area near township Road 217 in Salem Township at about 11:30 p.m. Friday. They found a man shooting for recreation and deputies told him to stop because of the late hour.

Vandalism: The windshield of a vehicle was shattered while parked in the 200 block of Main Street in Rayland Saturday night.

Arrested: Eugene Brown, 29, 105 Steuben Street, Mingo Junction, domestic violence and felonious assault, Wednesday.

Arrested: Nash Allison, 18, 633 N. Third St., Toronto, petit theft and criminal trespass, Thursday.

Arrested: Maxwell Eltringham, 18, 233 East Road, Toronto, receiving stolen property, Thursday.

Arrested: Ray Wellington, 49, 2997 county Road 47, Toronto, assault, Thursday.

Fire calls

Steubenville

Brush fire: City firefighters extinguished a small brush fire in the 300 block of Darlington Road at about 11:45 a.m. It was believed to have been caused by an arcing power line.
