Steubenville police

No good: Callers reported juveniles throwing rocks at vehicles parked at the marina, Wednesday.

Broken: A woman found out the glass in her front window had been broken via a text message from her ex-boyfriend, Wednesday. She said her ex, who was moving out, told her her house “was damaged and he didn’t want any part in it.”

Fired up: Someone spray painted the door of a car parked in the 700 block of North Fourth Street, then set fire to the interior, Thursday. The fire burned itself out, police said.

Assaulted: A woman in the 1400 block of Pennsylvania Avenue said a man her family has had problems with in the past began yelling at her, then struck her face several times and broke her cell phone, Thursday. Police said the woman had scratches on her face consistent with being assaulted and her cell phone had been damaged. A witness also confirmed her account, they said.

Buyer beware: A man who changed his mind about a car he’d purchased a from a lot on North Seventh Street said the owner refunded him $1,200 via check , but when he took it to the bank to cash it was voided because the account it was drawn on had been closed, Thursday. When he contacted the dealer, he claims the man told him the lot was closed and that he did not offer to get him his money.

Arrested: Karen Eftimiades, 57, 7110 Wardale Hollow S.E., Uhrichsville, improper handling of a firearm, Friday.

Arrested: Terald Herring, 43, no fixed address, failure to appear, Thursday.

Arrested: Anthony D. Parada, 25, 3843 Marland Heights Road, Weirton, warrants out of Columbiana County for felonious assault, resisting and drug trafficking, Thursday. Police had stopped to assist Parada with a disabled vehicle on Wellesley Avenue Extension when they learned there were outstanding warrants for his arrest.

Child’s play: Kids caught riding scooters on the sidewalk in the 1400 block of Oregon were advised they’re not allowed in the road or on the sidewalk, Thursday. The juveniles were told to park the bikes.

No problem: Callers reported a fight in progress outside an apartment on Lovers Lane, Thursday. Police located an apartment showing signs of an altercation, including items knocked over and a screen window laying on the porch, and said the woman who lived there was sweating and out-of-breath with a small laceration on her leg when she came to the door. They said she told them she’d been drinking and fell as she walked to her front door, hurting her knee. Her boyfriend had blood on his shirt but denied a physical altercation, saying he got blood on him when he helped her off the ground. The boyfriend said he was leaving for the night.

Overdosed: Police administered Narcan to revive a woman who’d collapsed on her bedroom floor and was unresponsive, Thursday. The friend who called police for assistance said she hadn’t seen the woman take any drugs.

Arrested: Deondre Banks, 22, 401 Dresden Ave., driving under the influence, Saturday.

Arrested: Daniel Adams, 24, Steubenville, bench warrant, Saturday.

Cited: William J. Greathouse, 30, 324 South Fourth St., operating an all-terrain vehicle on a roadway.

Shots fired: Police received reports of shots fired in the 1200 block of Maryland Avenue at about 6 p.m. and in the 1300 block of Euclid Avenue at about 6:20 p.m. Both areas were checked and nothing was found. The latter sounds may have been related to a blown transformer and power outage in that area.

Assault: Two women said they were walking on Highland Avenue late Saturday when a man known to them approached one and grabbed her throat and that later a group of females approached them and grabbed the wig worn by one of the women. The women declined to be treated.

Breaking and enterings: A door of a home in the 900 block of North Sixth Street showed signs of being pried and a broken window and unlocked door of a home were found in the 1500 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, both on Saturday night.

Arrested: Amy Jomes, 34, 220 Mason St., Amsterdam, warrant for operating a vehicle under the influence, Wednesday.

Arrested: Robert J. Wilson, 29. 112 ¢ Hannah, Adena, probation violation, Wednesday.

Vandalized: A Smithfield township resident found fireworks fragments inside his mailbox, Wednesday. The mailbox was not damaged.
