Jefferson County sheriff

Cited: Daniel Rawson, 33, 71 Trails End Road, Toronto, possession of drug paraphernalia and broken taillight. Deputies allegedly found a hypodermic needle and a butane torch in the vehicle when the driver was stopped on Commercial Avenue by Mingo Junction Police .

Footprints: An Island Creek township mother of two reported finding footprints outside the bedroom windows of her two daughters, Wednesday. One of the girls told deputies she spotted the male in her window and ran to alert her mother, but while she and her sister were running up the steps they heard the garage door lock rattling. Deputies said they followed the footprints around the residence from the girls’ windows to the garage door.

Crossing: A Bergholz property owner took exception to his nephew crossing his property to get to land he owned, Wednesday. He told deputies when he approached his nephew, the nephew threatened to shoot him and wants him charged with trespassing. Deputies noted the two have been involved in an ongoing family dispute.

Litter: The son of the owner of a litter-strewn property on Springfield township Road 275 told authorities he planned to pick up the trash and put it out for pickup, Thursday. Deputies said the man was advised he’d need a dumpster and said when they asked him what progress he had made, he told them he’d picked up a few cans but he’d been sick.

Arrested: Gregory Darnell Lekanudos, 30, 16 Oak St., Bridgeport, burglary, aggravated menacing, theft, phone harassment and violating a protection order, Wednesday.

Arrested: Joseph Otto, 22, 133 Oak Drive, Mount Pleasant, probation revocation, resisting arrest, obstruction of official business, operating a vehicle under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident, Thursday.

Arrested: Michael Deaner, 32, 41 township Road 311, Amsterdam, domestic violence, Thursday.

Steubenville police

Irritated: A woman in the 600 block of Grandview Avenue accused the father of her children of stealing her cell phone, Wednesday, The man told police she cut the wires to his security cameras, screamed at their children and picked up a butcher’s knife.

Bad language: A Wal-Mart employee said a woman walking through an aisle spit on her, Wednesday. Police said another customer said the same woman had threatened her. Officers were able to identify the woman and both victims told police they’d like to pursue charges against her.

Harassment: A woman walking in the 2600 block of Hollywood Boulevard screamed profanities at a neighbor and challenged her to fight, Thursday. Police said the woman was slurring her speech and appeared to be inebriated. The target of her rants told police the woman has been harassing her since she moved in recently.

Stolen: Seven gym bags containing Toronto sports uniforms were stolen from a vehicle parked on Aberdeen Road, Thursday.

Argument: A couple who have been living together in the 100 block of Weldon Avenue for years resorted to name calling during an argument, Wednesday, Police said the woman refused to let the man back in the house, but since both have established residence they’d each have to go through the eviction process to get rid of the other.

Shopping incident: A man doing his grocery shopping said a family member who appeared to be high began yelling at him, Thursday. The man told police when he left the store his cousin took a swing at him and missed.

Arrested: Julie Craft, 48, 123 Brookeview Drive Follansbee, petit theft, Thursday. Craft allegedly skip-scanned 132 items at Wal-Mart, loading them in a shopping cart and walking to the entrance where she was stopped by security, Thursday. They said she told them she wasn’t feeling well and wanted to run to her car to get medicine so she could return to continue checking out, but police allege surveillance footage shows her stacking items one on top of the other and scanning only the bottom item. The store claimed nearly $619 in merchandise was loaded into the cart but not paid for.
