Park it: A man reported finding a body in his backyard Monday, only to tell the responding officer he “just needed someone to talk to.” He told deputies “no one takes him seriously” and figured if he said there was a body he’d get a faster response. Deputies said his eyes were glassy and bloodshot, he smelled of alcohol and admitted he’d taken his kids out in a truck and was doing donuts when he lost control and slid into a tree. He said he’d walked his kids back to the house, and when his wife found out she yelled at him for taking the kids out when he’d been drinking.
Trashy: A caller complained about illegal dumping Monday along county Road 7, Dillonvale and after locating the dump site, a deputy found burned garbage with an individual’s name and address on it. He said the dump was about 100 feet from the train trestle on county Road 7 in Dillonvale.
Arrested: Kory Eugene Davis, 33, 4778 state Route 150, Dillonvale, was charged with making false alarms and endangering children.
Not leaving: A McDowell Avenue resident told police her boyfriend wouldn’t let her leave her bedroom, Monday. She told police she wanted him to leave, insisting he didn’t have residency status. Her boyfriend said he was trying to talk to her and she kept waking away, so he shut the door “just so she would listen to him,” insisting he never held her hostage. He told police he’d lived in the home long enough to claim residency rights.
Vandalized: The owner of a vehicle parked on Johnson Road on Monday told police someone stole its catalytic converter.
