Police reports

Jefferson County sheriff

Dispute: A Dillonvale man who wants his new girlfriend to move in with him told deputies, Tuesday, he needs his ex to move out. The man brought his new girlfriend home with him and wanted his ex to leave immediately, but she refused. Because the two of them had lived together for two months, deputies told him the woman has established residency so he’ll have to go through the eviction process. The ex-girlfriend told deputies she needs time to find a new home for her and her children.

Bad break: A man thinks his ex-girlfriend could be responsible for his truck and a sedan being vandalized in the early morning hours Tuesday. He said someone wrote “derogatory things” with a black magic marker on his vehicles. The man told deputies he suspects his ex.

Pressure: A woman told deputies she thinks an acquaintance of her mother has taken advantage of her, pressuring her into giving her more than $3,000 she can not afford to lose. The woman told deputies her mother, who is battling cancer, confirmed the woman pestered her for money and said she’s afraid of what the woman would do if she didn’t get it. She said her mother needs the money to pay her own bills and said it’s not the first time the woman has taken advantage of her mother financially.

Follow the signs: A truck driver ignored signs banning semis from the parking lot of a Bergholz tire shop and pulled in anyway, then unleashed a profanity-laced tirade when a female employee asked him to back out, deputies were told Tuesday. The woman said the man “began acting erratic and got out of the truck, approaching her and screaming” when she asked him to leave the lot, threatening to hit her and making “several other (obscene) comments.” A coworker heard the disturbance and grabbed his handgun, tucking it in his waistband behind his back and tried to defuse the situation. The driver eventually got back in his cab and backed out of the lot. The woman had videoed a portion of the disagreement, so authorities were able to confirm what happened and trace the carrier.

Arrested: Cynthia Ann Hoagland, 56, 267 Alamont Road, Mingo Junction, was taken into custody Tuesday on a fugitive from justice (vandalism) warrant; Jonathan Winzenreid, 22, 522 Wiley Ave., Barnesville, two warrants for failure to appear; Logan J. Kmatz, 20, Toronto, probation violation.

Strange altercation: A woman and her son who were using a Hollywood Boulevard ATM said a female who was behaving suspiciously rear-ended their car, Sunday. The mother said the other woman had parked her vehicle around the corner and was standing at the ATM when she pulled up. After the female left, the mother accompanied by her son took her turn. After her car was struck, the mother and son got out to survey the damage and talk to her, but the other female insisted there was no damage and began to curse. The mother said the female tried to hit her so they scuffled, then the other woman jumped in her car and fled. When police located the other female they said she was acting erratically and attempted to go inside her residence while they were interviewing her.

The caller said his landlord had asked him to discourage drug dealers, and told police he’d seen people going into the building who didn’t live there and suggested they leave if they were there to buy or sell drugs. He said the other man said he could deal drugs where he wanted and threatened to come back and shoot his home up. The other individual said he’d gotten a ride to his girlfriend’s home said he’d leaned in the window to give her gas money and the other man started accusing him of being a dealer.
