Sugar: Police were called to the marina to check on a man whose car ended up partially over the hill at the marina, Tuesday. The driver appeared disoriented and said he had problems with his sugar level, which ambulance personnel said was extremely high, police reported. He told police another driver ran him off the roadway as he was entering the marina, but they said it appeared as if he ran off the north side of the roadway as he was leaving. They said the mishap might have been caused by a medical emergency.
Problems: A woman living in the 1300 block of Wellesley was advised to seek a protection order to deal with a neighbor with whom she’s had ongoing problems, Tuesday. The woman said she’s been having problems for months over the volume of the neighbor’s radio, and as she was taking her garbage out Tuesday claims that neighbor said she was “gonna end up shooting this (expletive).” The woman told police she didn’t think the statement was directed at her, but she did believe the statement was referring to her.
Code issues: Notices of violation were sent to owners of property at 439 South Fourth, 452 South Fourth, 318 South Fourth, all for high grass.
Family fuss: A mother and daughter in the downtown area came to blows, Tuesday. Police initially were called by the mother to remove the daughter, who she said disrespected her, but they couldn’t because the younger woman had established residency. They were called back to the home a few minutes later because the dispute reportedly became physical, and the younger woman told police her mother had hit her with a lamp and pepper sprayed her. Police said the mother told them she’d overheard her daughter tell someone she wished she was dead and took exception to that. She said she confronted her daughter and they argued, until she claims her daughter punched her in the temple, so she fought back.
Shot: Police reported a Euclid Avenue resident apparently shot himself in the leg, Tuesday.
Booked: Herman E. Pinnell Jr., 45, 908 Market St., Apt. B, Steubenville, criminal mischief, Tuesday. Pinnell allegedly returned to the home of a former girlfriend after he was released from the Jefferson County jail, yelling at his ex through a window and eventually breaking a kitchen window. He also allegedly grabbed a lamp and threw it at another man in the residence.
