Damages: A man in the 400 block of Dresden Avenue who’d told his ex he had her belongings by the door decided she wasn’t moving fast enough and started throwing her things off his second-story balcony, breaking them, Thursday. Police observed a smashed TV, a broken air conditioner and other items belonging to the woman, with whom he’d lived over two years and shared a child. Police advised her to continue gathering her belongings and document the damage for a civil case and custody proceedings.
Problem child: An Opal Boulevard resident said her underage daughter flew into a rage when she told her she wasn’t going to make her a plate for dinner, Thursday. She said the girl had been sleeping on the couch and when she woke her for dinner, wanted her to bring her a plate but she told her she was capable of getting her own. She said the girl “jumped up in a rage and began verbally berating her … (and) at one point … stated she wished her mother would die.” She said she’s had ongoing problems with the girl.

Chased: A mail carrier in the 500 block of Lincoln Boulevard complained to police a tan mixed-breed dog was chasing her and said it’s been an ongoing problem, Thursday. Police located the owner, who said the animal slipped its collar. They suggested she keep the animal inside or secure in the backyard until after the mail has been delivered. The owner, Amy Bartholomew, 39, 507 Lincoln Blvd., Steubenville, was cited for dog at large.
Served: Ryan Pitner, 31, Hollywood Boulevard, Steubenville, failure to appear, Thursday.

Concerning: A juvenile at the intersection of Adams and Eighth streets said an older male tried to pick her up, Thursday. She said the man was driving a white pickup and passed her twice, then pulled up and asked her if she wanted to “take a ride.”
She said she immediately called police so he fled up Adams Street. Police were unable to locate the truck, but the juvenile was able to get the vehicle’s registration plate and identified the registered owner as the male involved.
