House sends education reform bill back to Senate

CHARLESTON — The West Virginia House of Delegates passed a shrunk-down education reform package today, sending it back to the Senate and a likely conference committee to iron out differences.

The House passed Senate Bill 451, the education omnibus bill, 71-29 during its floor session.

The House version of the bill will go to the Senate, which will have to decide whether to accept the changes made by the House, amend it further or reject it. House leaders expect rejection, which will require both senators and delegates to come together as a conference committee make changes to the bill.
