During the July 8 Weirton Council meeting, Mayor Harold Miller presented a proclamation honoring the military service of city resident Jerry Miller. Miller served in the U.S. Army from 1969 to 1983. Over the years, he has been active with the Weirton Chamber, the Weirton United Way, Make-A-Wish, St. Jude, has been director for a local youth bowling program, and has served as both a Weirton councilman and a member of the Weirton Transit Corp. board of trustees. — Craig Howell
