Weirton Chamber going ‘hog wild’

WEIRTON — It’s going to be a “hog wild” time Friday for the Weirton Area Chamber of Commerce.

The chamber will hold its annual “Hog Wild on the Heights,” featuring food, beverages, competitions, demonstrations and more.

“It’s our fifth year hosting it,” Chamber President Brenda Mull said.

This year’s event will begin at 5:30 p.m., at Marland Heights Park. Tickets are still available, at a cost of $25 for chamber members and $30 for non members. Tickets must be purchased in advance.

Sponsors are James White Construction, R.E. Saxon Jeweler, Robinson and Son Construction, Serra Village Retirement Community, United Bank, Wine and Beverage Merchants and Waldorf Distributing.

“It’s a great end to the summer,” Member Services Coordinator Stephanie O’Brien explained.

The night will include music by Danny Dami, a hoops contest, an appearance by “Forged in Fire” champion Tommy Matthews of Crooked River Forge, an archery contest held by Alexander Archery, a display from Homeland Firearms and a chipping demonstration by Williams Golf and Country Club.

“It’s a good night to come out, have some food and some fun,” Mull said.

Food is being provided by Pepsi-Cola Roadhouse.
