Budget debated

NEW CUMBERLAND — The New Cumberland Finance Committee met Nov. 12, reviewing the city’s budget and bills.

The general fund had approximately $249,000 in revenue and $206,000 in expenses for the month. At the last council meeting, council approved the October bills of $25,799, which Sara Hawkins, city clerk and financial administrator, reported as fairly typical.

The city has received some of the initial payment on its insurance claims and should be receiving additional claim money over the next few weeks. Currently, the city has two claims out for two separate sewer vacuum pump stations. The committee also reviewed the city’s funds which all have a positive balance.

Hawkins is getting ready for the end of the calendar year and reviewing financial paperwork. She reported the city is not expecting any large expenses for the remainder of the year. The city is expecting more information on its audit in December.
