WEIRTON — A yearly fundraiser to benefit the Millsop Community Center is under way, providing area residents with a chance to pick up a few gifts and contribute to the future of the city’s recreation services.

“This will be our 17th annual Christmas Bulletin Board Auction,” Programs Director Chris Krishak explained. “This is a great way to get some early Christmas shopping done while helping a good cause.”

Bids for the Christmas Bulletin Board Auction will be accepted at the main desk of the Millsop Community Center until Monday, with a live auction element being held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday.

According to Krishak, there are approximately 100 items up for grabs in this year’s auction, all donated by local businesses, with everything from oil changes to gift cards for local restaurants and overnight hotel stays.

The bulletin board containing items up for grabs is located in the main hallway on the lower floor of the community center.

Proceeds from the auction go toward the Millsop Community Center’s Legacy Trust Fund, established to provide funding for the future upkeep of the center.

“It’s one of our biggest fundraisers of the year,” Parks Director Coty Shingle said.

Krishak offered his appreciation to all who donated items for the auction.
