EVENTS POSTPONED/CANCELED

Due to the precautions being taken surrounding the coronavirus, the following changes have been made regarding events and meetings in the local area:

¯ The Richmond Community Historical Society has canceled its meeting for tonight.

¯ “Time to Meet the Angels,” a series of three talks by theology professor Mark Miravalle and originally scheduled for today and March 24, and 31 in Christ the King Chapel at the Franciscan University of Steubenville, has been canceled.

¯ The baked steak dinner that had been scheduled for Wednesday at the Hill Top Fellowship Hall has been canceled.

— The Jefferson County Safety Council meeting set for Wednesday has been canceled.

¯ The release of the feasibility study “Connecting Cleveland to Pittsburgh by Trail,” which had been scheduled to be held Wednesday by the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy at Historic Fort Steuben has been postponed.

¯ The Steubenville Art Association has canceled its workshop and meeting that was to be held Wednesday at Historic Fort Steuben.

¯ The Wintersville Woman’s Club’s meeting on Thursday has been canceled.

¯ The Weirton Heights Memorial Baptist Church’s “Together” dinners on Wednesday are canceled until further notice.

¯ Steubenville High School’s production of “Newsies,” which had been scheduled for Friday through Sunday, has been tentatively rescheduled for May 1-3.

¯ Irondale United Methodist Church’s fish dinner fundraiser on Friday has been canceled.

¯ The G.K. Chesterton Symposium at the Franciscan University of Steubenville, originally scheduled for Friday and Saturday, has been postponed.

¯ The Tri-State Home and Garden Show, scheduled for Friday, Saturday and Sunday at St. Florian Hall in Wintersville, has been canceled.

¯ Montani Semper Liberi Music and Art at Oak Glen, scheduled for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, has been canceled.

¯ The sixth-annual Ann Trombadore Women and Leadership Weekend that had been set for Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Bethany College has been canceled.

¯ The Ohio Local History Alliance regional meeting to be held Saturday at Historic Fort Steuben and Visitors Center has been canceled.

¯ The open house scheduled to be held Saturday by the Academy of Lifelong Learning, as well as the entire spring program, has been canceled.

¯ The Festival of Nations that had been scheduled for Saturday at the Millsop Community Center in Weirton has been canceled.

¯ The Campbell-Dickinson Run in Toronto and related events scheduled for Saturday and the cancer survivors dinner set for Thursday have been postponed.

¯ Family Roots Farm has canceled the tours and dinner it had scheduled for Saturday.

¯ The Jefferson Metropolitan Housing Authority meeting scheduled for March has been canceled.

¯ The retired railroaders monthly breakfast meeting on March 26 has been canceled.

¯ The annual Edison Athletic Booster steak fry and auction scheduled for March 28 has been postponed.

¯ The Spring Quilt Show to be held at Historic Fort Steuben from March 30 to April 10 has been canceled.

¯ Sacred Heart of Mary Church in Weirton will still host Lenten dinners on Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.but for takeout only. For pickup orders, call (304) 723-1648.

¯ The Steubenville Kiwanis Club has suspended its Tuesday noon luncheon meetings for the remainder of March and at the end of March will review how to proceed in April.

¯ Perpetual adoration in the Portiuncula Chapel on the campus of the Franciscan University of Steubenville has been is suspended, but the chapel will remain open for prayer each day from 5 a.m. to midnight. The monstrance will not be exposed.

¯ Country Friends is canceling all events in March. The cancellations are for the month of March only.

¯ The program “You can have your Timber and Wildlife Too” that had been scheduled for today at the Jefferson County Joint Vocational School has been postponed.

¯ The Thursday Toronto Senior Citizens meeting and trips have been canceled.

¯ The regular Friday meetings of the Steubenville Rotary Club have been suspended until at least April 17, club officials have announced.

¯ The Brooke County Economic Development Authority’s Thursday meeting has been canceled.

¯ The Weirton Area Chamber of Commerce has postponed its annual membership meeting and dinner, which had been set for March 24.

¯ Toronto High School’s National Honor Society induction, scheduled for March 25, has been postponed.

¯ CHANGE Inc. has canceled its Home Buyer Education class on March 27

¯ The Boomer’s Book Club annual Easter Egg Hunt set for March 28 at Bethany College has been canceled.

¯ The Adena Lions Club’s annual show, set for March 27 and 28, has been postponed.

¯ The Hughes Lecture at West Liberty University, scheduled for March 26, has been canceled.

¯ Two Ridges Presbyterian Church, 1085 Canton Road, Wintersville, will not have worship service Sunday. Lenten Bible Study will not be held Wednesday and March 25.

¯ The March 27, 28, 29 productions of “The Miracle Worker” at the Franciscan University of Steubenville have been canceled.

¯ The nursing dedication ceremony, scheduled for March 27 at the Franciscan University of Steubenville, has been canceled and will possibly be rescheduled for the fall semester.

¯ The spring event of the Ohio Valley Music Guild featuring singers from the Pittsburgh Festival Opera scheduled for April 18 has been canceled.

¯ The Steubenville Art Association’s annual spring art show for April has been canceled.

¯ The Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County will be closed until further notice as a measure of safety for employees and the public.

¯ Visitation at the Jefferson County Jail has been suspended until further notice, Sheriff Fred Abdalla has announced. The only exception will be for attorneys who are visiting their clients.

¯ The Weirton Municipal Building and the Millsop Community Center have been closed to the public.

¯ The Follansbee City Building business office is closed to the public.

¯ The Mary H. Weir Public Library is closed until the end of March.

¯ Wintersville Village offices have been closed.

¯ The board of directors of the Weirton Senior Center has decided to close the center until further notice. The Hancock Brooke Nutrition program is making frozen meals available to pick up at the senior center today through Friday. Anyone who has ordered a meal for this week can pick it up at the door of the center.

¯ The Brooke County Public Library has canceled all programs in March but will remain open.
