Registration now open for Weirton fall youth sports leagues

WEIRTON — Registration is under way for the fall youth sports leagues at the Millsop Community Center.

Two sports are being featured this fall, with area youth able to participate in outdoor flag football and indoor soccer in October and November.

The outdoor flag football league tentatively will begin in October, with games played one night during the week, and Saturday mornings through late November. The program is open to area youth pre-school through sixth grade. There will be two divisions in the league: Pre-K through second grade and third grade through sixth grade.

Games will be played on the Edwin J. Bowman Field, located behind the community center.

Applications will be accepted until Sept. 19.

Indoor soccer will begin in early November and run through early December. Games will be held one evening during the week and on Saturdays. It, also, is open to area youth pre-school through sixth grade, with two age divisions.

Applications will be accepted through Oct. 17.

The cost to participate is $50 per player, per league, with discounts available for those families with multiple youth participating, or for children whose parents or guardians coach.

Space is limited for the two leagues, and coaches are needed for both.

To ensure the safety of all players, coaches, officials and spectators, COVID-19 Guidelines will be followed along with other safety measures, including a limited number of spectators at games.

For more information, call (304) 797-8520 or stop by the Weirton Millsop Community Center to register.
