Table of Hope meal site reopens today in Weirton
WEIRTON — Table of Hope, a hot meal site located in Weirton, will reopen to the public at 5 p.m. today.
Table of Hope has been serving the needs of Brooke and Hancock counties since 2012 and has served more than 50,000 meals to the community.
All are welcome at the meal site; there are no income guidelines, fees or questions asked. Table of Hope operates out of First United Methodist Church, located at 3301 West St. in Weirton.
Table of Hope is a collective effort, relying on staff, volunteers, area businesses and organizations to help provide this service. It is a partner agency with the Mountaineer Food Bank.
Meals traditionally have been served two times each week; however, following local guidance for COVID-19 safety measures, meals will only be available from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays for the time being.
Table of Hope became an affiliate of Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland and East Central Ohio earlier this year. Table of Hope continues to rely, in part, on the support of area businesses and individuals. Monetary donations and donations of supplies or food can be made at goodwillgoodskills.org or by mailing to Table of Hope, 3301 West St., Weirton, WV 26062.
