Weirton chase suspect among 13 indicted by Hancock County grand jury

NEW CUMBERLAND — A Weirton man who allegedly led police on a chase through the city in November, resulting in damage to private property, was among 13 individuals indicted by a Hancock County grand jury this week.

The list of indictments was released by Hancock County Prosecuting Attorney Steven Dragisich Wednesday morning.

Michael A. Hodges, 45, of 139 Church St., Apt. 1, Weirton, was indicted on charges of fleeing in a vehicle from a law enforcement officer with reckless indifference and attempted unlawful assault.

The incident began early Nov. 9 when Weirton police attempted to stop Hodges for allegedly running a red light.

Hodges continues to be held at West Virginia Northern Regional Jail in Moundsville on a $5,000 surety/cash bond.

Others indicted by the grand jury this week are:

¯ Steven J. Carman Jr., 25, 500 Lincoln St., Newell, seven counts of child abuse resulting in bodily injury.

¯ Dalton J. Lancaster, 29, 607 South Chester St., New Cumberland, delivery of a controlled substance, methamphetamine; possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, methamphetamine.

¯ Daniel R. Maloney, 41, 600 South 24th St., Weirton, two counts sexual assault by a parent, two counts second degree sexual assault, two counts third degree sexual assault, two counts incest.

¯ Alex C. Evans, 35, 205 Beech Road, Weirton, drug delivery resulting in death; possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, methamphetamine; gross neglect of a child creating substantial risk of injuary/death; domestic battery. He is currently held in the Northern Regional Jail on a total of $14,400 in bonds.

¯ George S. Evans, 58, 208 Brickhard Bend, New Cumberland, two counts sexual abuse by a parent/custodian; two counts first degree sexual abuse.

¯ Neil A. Cain, 25, 344 Orr St., Weirton, two counts sexual abuse by a custodian; two counts first degree sexual assault; two counts incest.

¯ Leeann E. Mannella, 32, 335 North 10th St., Weirton, driving while license revoked for DUI, second offense; driving under the influence of alcohol, third offense.

¯ Brandon D. Savin, 25, 704 Oakland Ave., East Liverpool, fleeing in a vehicle from a law enforcement officer with reckless indifference, possession of a stolen vehicle.

¯ John D. Ingram, 44, 317 South 17th St., Weirton, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, methamphetamine; delivery of a controlled substance, methamphetamine; possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, fentanyl.

¯ Douglas E. Swisher, 60, 756 Clifton Ave., Follansbee, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, methamphetamine; conspiracy to possess a controlled substance with intent to deliver, methamphetamine.

¯ Chelsea Beveridge, 26, no fixed address, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, methamphetamine; conspiracy to possess a controlled substance with intent to deliver, methamphetamine.

¯ Dalton Alford, 22, 48004 Fredrickstown-Clarkson Road, Negley, Ohio, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, marijuana.
