ADENA — The Adena Lions Club will hold its 73rd-annual show, “Love. Laugh. Lions!,” at 7:30 p.m. March 28-29 at Buckeye West Elementary School in Adena.

This year’s show will celebrate the “timeless theme of love, promising to fill hearts with joy, laughter and unforgettable moments,” officials announced.

“The Adena Lions Club has a rich tradition of community service and global outreach,” President Karl Bowers stated. “The show remains our largest fundraiser.”

Throughout the years, the club has raised funds through program book sponsors, drawings and admission ticket sales.

Members support local initiatives, including providing eyeglasses, aiding food pantries and sponsoring summer reading programs.

The Lions contribute to global efforts, such as natural disaster relief, measles vaccinations and eye research through its affiliation with Lions Club International, officials noted.

Bowers stated, “This will be an evening filled with love and laughter! Join us as we celebrate the power of love and support the community. Your presence will make this night even more special.”

The show will take guests on a two-hour musical journey, featuring the songs “At Last,” “Burning Love,” “Love Will Keep Us Together,” “What the World Needs Now” and “You Are So Beautiful,” among others. The show will include the comedies “I Love Lucy” and “The Love Boat,” ensuring there will be something for everyone, Bowers said.

Club member Dustin Kinsey serves as the show’s director. He commented, “Love will be all around as we bring you this heartwarming show. With our 40-person cast and live house band, we hope to create memories that will last a lifetime.”

This show is being dedicated to longtime member John Parkinson, who has been part of the show for eight decades. Parkinson will serve as master of ceremonies. Tickets are priced at $10, with children under 12 admitted free of charge.

The Adena Lions Club is inviting everyone to join them for an evening of love, laughter and community spirit.

The men and women of the club meet on the second Wednesday of the month.

Members help to identify the needs of those within the community and work together to fulfill those needs. For information or to get involved, e-mail adenalions@comcast.net or visit its Facebook page.
