The United States Army Field Band Jazz Ambassadors performed for area residents Monday evening at the Berkman Amphitheater in Fort Steuben Park. The Jazz Ambassadors is the official touring big band of the United States Army that was formed in 1969 and includes a 19-member ensemble. The band has received acclaim in America and abroad, performing jazz for cities throughout the world. The band’s diverse repertoire includes big band swing, bebop, Latin, contemporary jazz, standards, popular tunes, Dixieland, vocals and patriotic selections, many of which were written or arranged by its members. The special presentation was free to the public. The 2025 Summer Concert Series continues at 7 p.m. Thursday with performances by Taylor Jo and the Copper Creek Band and the Billy Price Band. Concerts are free of charge, with donations being accepted between acts. — Julie Stenger
