Accepting the challenge

Representatives from the cities of Weirton and Follansbee have accepted a challenge issued by leaders of the Brooke-Hancock Salvation Army to see who can raise the most money as bell ringers for this year’s Christmas kettle campaign. Among those helping out Friday were, left photo, Weirton 6th Ward Councilman Anthony Rocchio, who was stationed at the Weirton Wal-Mart, and, right photo, Follansbee Mayor Scott McMahon, left, and 4th Ward Councilman Rudy Cipriani, who staffed the Follansbee Riesbeck’s. Other volunteers are invited to join them in manning the kettles and raising funds for local families in need outside multiple businesses in Brooke and Hancock counties Monday through Saturday through Dec. 24. For information, call (304) 748-4310.
