Boil order issued for Overbrook Drive area in Weirton

WEIRTON – A boil order was issued Saturday afternoon following work performed on a water line on Overbrook Drive

According to the Weirton Area Water Board, areas affected under the order include Cove Road between Weir Avenue and Overbrook Drive, as well as all customers on Overbrook Drive, Garden Way, and Spring Street, as well as any others who experienced low or no water pressure.

If you live in the affected areas listed above bring all water to a boil, let it boil for one minute, and let it cool before using, or use bottled water. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, bathing, and food preparation until further notice. Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms in the water. Disinfection will be verified as soon as possible, and the boil water notice will be lifted through local media notification.
