Clarice Sutter

Clarice Elizabeth Sutter, 96, passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at Westminster Thurber Retirement Community in Columbus, OH.

She was born April 25, 1921, in Toronto, OH, to the late James and Rosina (Grimm) Condrin. Clarice was a graduate of Toronto High School.

She left Toronto in 1942 to work for the federal government in Dayton, OH, supporting the country during World War II. She later transferred to Warner Robins, GA, and then Shelby, OH, where she met her future husband, Victor, whom she married in 1954.

In 1957, Vic’s work led them to Philadelphia, PA, and in 1962 to Columbus, OH.

After Vic’s passing, she moved to Oakleaf Village Seniors Community in 2005 and then to Westminster Thurber in 2014.

Clarice was an avid card player, especially Bridge and Euchre. She was a long-time member of St. Anthony Parish in Columbus.

Clarice was a wonderful wife and mother, and she will be sadly missed by her family and many friends.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Victor A. Sutter; and sister, Mary Rita Owens.

Surviving are children, Agnes, Karl and Mark Sutter; sisters, Ruth Smoljanovich of Weirton, WV, and Rosemond Garnick of Toronto, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends Sunday, March 18, 2018, from 1-4 p.m. at Schoedinger North Chapel, 5554 Karl Rd., Columbus, OH, 43229.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 5742 State Route 61 South, Shelby, OH, 44875. Monsignor Michael Hohenbrink will act as celebrant.
