Dorcia Ryan

Dorcia Lee Yukevich Ryan, 67, of Burgettstown; Hanover Twp., passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Monday evening, March 26, 2018 in her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on September 15, 1950, a daughter of Carmelita Lee Gaines Yukevich of Eldersville and the late Vincent William Yukevich, Jr.

A graduate of the Union High School in Burgettstown, she also completed training to become a paramedic and a beautician. She had a 30 plus year career as a paramedic with Northwest Ambulance Service in Burgettstown and retired from Washington Ambulance and Chair Service.

Mrs. Ryan was an active and faithful member of Open Door Baptist Church in Colliers, WV where she was the head of their fellowship hall. Mrs. Ryan was also a member of Jefferson Twp Fire Dept Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed going to Tappan Lake with her family and was a dedicated caregiver to anyone in need.

Her beloved husband, Randolph Paul Ryan, whom she married on August 16, 1969, survives.

Left to cherish her memory in addition to her mother and husband are her two sons, Nolan Paul Ryan and companion, Rebecca Sparks of Burgettstown and Eric Ryan and wife, Christina of Eldersville; her abundantly loved grandson, Austin Ryan; her sister, Rinda Riggs and husband, Richard of Eldersville; and several nieces, nephews, grand- nieces and nephews.

Deceased in addition to her father is her brother, Vincent William Yukevich, III; and her father and mother-in-law, Ralph and Joan Ryan.

A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4, in the Open Door Baptist Church, 3432 Elderville Road, Colliers, WV 26035, with Pastor Larry Garrison officiating. Immediately following the service, everyone is invited to the Church Social Hall for a dessert social.
