Charles (Big Mac) Royce McCallister, 21, of Dover, OH, passed away Thursday, September 20, 2018 in a car accident.
He graduated with the Class of 2016 from Tusky Valley High School where he enjoyed football, wrestling, and track and field. Charles also received his certificate from Buckeye Career Center for Auto Technology and studied at the University of Northwestern Ohio. He was also known as our “Gentle Giant”.
He was born October 17, 1996, in Columbus, OH, to Martin L. McCallister, Sr. of Amsterdam, OH and Goldie C. (Affolter) McCallister of Boliver, OH.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Donald Elsworth Affolter and Florence Eva (Bassett) Schupp, and his paternal grandparent Jimmy Dale McCallister, Sr., and Aunt Jackie Lee Carrick.
Surviving in addition to his parents are his paternal grandmother Nancy Lee (Staley) McCallister of Lake Panasoffkee, FL, two brothers, Martin L. McCallister II of Killeen, TX, Christopher R. McCallister of Amsterdam, OH, maternal Aunt Donna Green and Uncle Nathan Schupp; paternal Uncles Jimmy D. McCallister, Jr. and John T. McCallister, many great aunts, great uncles, cousins, and friends.
Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday, September 29 at 6 p.m. at The Rock, 10911 State Route 212 NE Bolivar, Ohio with Pastor Aaron Rae officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any local food bank or homeless shelter.
Interment will be at a later date in the family plot at Simmons Ridge Cemetery, Amsterdam, OH.
