John P. Kuhns

He was born September 11, 1955 in Steubenville, OH. He was the son of the late Paul J. and Esther Lois Newby Kuhns. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, David and Paul Kuhns.

John was a member of the First Christian Church; graduate, West Liberty College, 1978, B.A. biology, where he was a member of Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity, which he cherished the brotherhood that flourished through the years; past member of Hancock County Sportsmen Club; competition pistol shooter/HCPP league; wood crafting; New Cumberland Lodge No.22 A.F.&A.M.; he enjoyed watching his grandson’s sports.

Previous employment included many years at Weirton Steel; supervisor at Goldschmidt Chemical (Reaxis), McDonald, PA.

Surviving are his wife of 31 years, Holly Lisac-Kuhns; daughters, Sharon Kuhns of Weirton, WV, Sarah Kuhns of Nashville, TN; grandsons, Daniel and Kalen Kuhns, as well as looking forward to the upcoming birth of a granddaughter, Adalyn; sister, Mary Louise Danek (James) of Weirton, WV; sister-in-laws, Sophie Kuhns and Suzanne Kuhns; and a host of many friends. Visitation will be Monday September 17, 2018 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Steel and Wolfe Funeral Home Inc., 380 Penco Road, Weirton, WV where the funeral/committal services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Reverend Kevin L. Bowers presiding.
