Theodore Anthony Kolanko, 93, a lifelong resident of Weirton, WV, died Thursday, September 27, 2018 in the Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.
Ted was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. He served in the United States Navy during World War II, received his formal education at West Virginia University and Pittsburgh Institute of Technology.
He retired from the former Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel as an industrial engineer.
Ted was an avid golfer and long-time bridge player.
Preceding him in death was his wife Jeanne C. Kolanko, parents, John and Mary (Kukula) Kolanko, brothers Edward, Tony, Frank and Joe Kolanko, sisters, Mary Lou Kolanko and Stella Kolanko Sullivan.
Surviving are his sons, Robert Kolanko and his wife Sono, of Weirton, WV, John Kolanko of Auburndale, FL, Thad Kolanko and his wife, Lucinda of Weirton; grandchildren, Mari and Megu, John Curtis, Melissa, Amy, Michael,; great-grand children Electra, Hanna, Ethan, Autumn and Hayleigh; and his sister, Theresa Kolanko Marone of Tampa, FL.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Saint Paul’s Roman Catholic Church, 140 Walnut Street Weirton, WV.
A date and time of the memorial mass will be announced in the near future.
