Thomas Care

Thomas Harvey Care, 84, died September 19, 2018, at Hospice of the Valley, Hospice House. Tom was born March 4, 1934 in Steubenville, OH, a son of Thomas and Virginia Owings Care.

He was a graduate of Follansbee High School in West Virginia. Tom went on to attend West Virginia University before transferring to West Liberty, where he received a Bachelors Degree in Business.

He worked at Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel and later retired from Thomas Steel Strip in Warren as a slitting supervisor. He was a member of Boardman United Methodist Church and a member of the Coon Club.

Thomas enjoyed flying and was a private pilot. He was very athletic and was an avid golfer.

Tom served his country having served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Roosevelt.

He is survived by his wife, the former Romayn Wilson of Boardman, whom he married July 17, 1964; one daughter, Courtnay (Brian) Steckley; one brother, John Richard (Doris) Care of Wellsburg, WV; a niece, Rebecca Care; and a nephew, John Richard Care.

He was preceded in death by both of his parents.

Services will be held at Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market St., Boardman, Monday at 1 p.m. with Rev. Jerry Krueger officiating. Interment will follow in the Green Haven Memorial Gardens, Canfield.

Friends and family will be received Monday from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
