Helen McCallister

Helen Louise McAllister, 84, of Colliers, WV, was called Home to Glory at 10:35 p.m. on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at her residence under the care of her family and Amedisys Hospice.

Helen was born on August 16, 1934 in Ferry Glen, WV. She was the daughter of the late James C. and Irene (Thompson) McAllister.

Helen was a member of Ferry Glen Church of the Nazarene, Colliers, WV. Helen worked at Weirton Medical Center as the Manager of Central Processing.

Many will remember Helen for her love of gardening, shopping on Saturdays, baking, watching Judge Judy and her clocks; but most of all, for the love of Christmas Decorating and Interior Design, which always made the holidays.

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by a grandson, Brandon Manson and five siblings, Virginia Fletcher, Ethel, Fred, Edward, and Charlotte McAllister.

Helen is survived by her eight children, Pastor Herbert Fred (Patti) Fletcher of Weirton, WV, Cindi Manson of Colliers, WV, twins, Pastor Rudy M. (Rosie) McAllister of Weirton, WV and Randy M. McAllister Sr. of Colliers, WV, Gregory “Greg” McAllister, Carolyn McAllister, Ethel Lynn McAllister, all of Colliers, WV, and Shawn (Julie) McAllister of Weirton, WV, 16 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren, six brothers, Albert (Maryann) McAllister of Follansbee, WV, James McAllister of Steubenville, OH, Theodore (Phyllis) McAllister, Joseph (Margaret) McAllister, all of Wellsburg, WV, David (Sharyn) McAllister of Weirton, WV, and Charles (Judy) McAllister of Wellsburg, WV, a sister, Shirley Staten of Wellsburg, WV, extended family, Linda Simon and Vivian McAllister, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her two dogs and bird.

Family and friends will be received on Monday, October 29, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and again on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 from 11a.m. until time of Homegoing Service at Noon at the James Funeral Home, Follansbee, WV (304)527-1717 with her two sons, Pastor Herbert Fred and Pastor Rudy McAllister and her grandson, Pastor Randy M. Michael Jr., officiating.

Interment will follow at Highland Hills Memorial Gardens, Follansbee, WV.
